The party leaves Sanpoint to scout out Thistletop.  Neenya is still in a coma.  Vosh had to check into something for his "Mom".  Grim was offered a lucrative position guarding a merchant train heading south to Magnimar.

The party stopped at the edge of the Nettlewood forest and set out a picnic.  Del transformed into a sparrow and did some reconnaisance.  He scouted out the goblin enclave and discovered a wooden keep built on the stony 'pillar' just off the coast.  A rope bridge connects it to the mainland.  The party decided to cast flight and invisibility on the entire party and bypass the forest and go directly to the keep.  Their intention is to capture a high ranking goblin that would be able to give some information regarding the group's plans.

They landed in an exercise yard with some goblin dogs milling about.  Two of the creatures were barking and scratching at a door.  The party investigated the door and discovered a half-starved horse that was wild with hunger.  It immediately lashed out and the party used the horse as a distraction to break into the building.  As the goblin dogs attacked the horse, the party moved to a door in the northern part of the yard, entered the the building and started a methodical search of the premises.  They had not gone far before they discovered a set of stairs going down, into the stone.

Just beyond the stairway, they found a room that seemed to be a war room used to plan the attack at Sandpoint.  The party spent a short amount of time in the room and discovered that there is another plan to attack Sandpoint.  This time it will be a much larger force including goblins from a much broader range and an army of the creatures referred to as "sinspawn".  Additional information gained made reference to the 'runewell of wrath', and the attacks are planned to comence once "the whispering beast is tamed".

The party decides to return to Sandpoint immediately to warn the sherrif of the possibility of attack.

Sherrif Bellor is very concerned and although he cannot offer any manpower to the group, he offers whatever material goods the party would need (and is within his power to provide).  He believes the best chance Sandpoint has is to stop the goblins and whatever leads them from attacking Sandpoint in the first place.  Barring that, he is preparing the defenses of the town as best he can.

The party turns to Brodurt the gnome sage for any information he may have about the structure at Thistletop.  He is ignorant of the structure but informs the party briefly about some of the history of the region, dating back thousands of years and the Thassilonian empire and the cataclysm that followed which changed the face of the world, forever.

Not really a dog...
