Vosh returns to Sandpoint after clearing the underbrush leading up to the Thistletop keep.  He searches around town and is lead to the Mill by Sheriff Belor (after bringing him up to speed).

The party continues their investigations of the murders at the Lumber Mill.  Del identifies some tracks on the dock, leaving the mill and entering the river.  The party follows the riverbank, searching for where the murderer would have left the river.  Opposite the mill on the southeast bank of the river, the party discovers tracks leaving the river, but only to a small stand of reeds a short distance from the bank.  It appears as though something came from the river, spent a significant amount of time here and then went back into the river.  Del figures the tracks in this area are a bit older than those left at the mill.  The vantage point hidden in the reeds offers a good view into the mill; it seems to be a good observation post.  Not locating any tracks leading away from the river, the group continues on, searching for the creatures egress.

As they continue up the bank of the river, they approach the coast and the riverbank becomes steeper and steeper, until they are over 20 feet above the water.  The party investigates/explores the four noble estates located on this secluded outcropping.  The first they come across is the Valdemar manor, followed by the Deverin, Kaijitsu and Scarnetti manors.

Finding nothing to aid their investigation, the party returned to the Sandpoint Garrison and questioned Ibor Thorn, partner in the Sanpoint Mill with Banny Harker, the victim.  At first Ibor is uncooperative, stating that he already told the Sheriff everything he knew.  Brad quickly changed his tune, using magical persuasion to have Ibor divulge more information.  Ibor confirms that Harker had frequent midnight trysts with Katrine, but although Ven’s a possessive father, Ibor didn’t think he was capable of doing what was done to Harker. Ibor admits that Harker had been “cooking the books” for some time. Ibor’s quick to point out that he never took part in the scams, but does admit that Harker might have stashed away quite a lot of money by skimming from the top of sales and business over the past several years. The Scarnettis, the noble family that owns the lumber mill, have a reputation for being ruthless—there are rumors that they’re responsible for burning several competing lumber mills in the region, and Ibor wouldn’t put it above the Scarnettis to hire someone to kill Harker if they found out he’d been embezzling money.

Afterward, they question Ven vinder, father to Katrine, the other victim.  Ven is very confrontational and is angry that he is still being held in the cell.  He flys into a rage after Brad casts a spell at him (and resists).  The party basically get very little information from him, other than that he watched a child die when he was a kid.

The party then examined the bodies from the previous murder.  They noticed the similarity in wounds - although these bodies had been mutilated far worse than even Harker - and they all had the seven-pointed start carved into their chest.

Concerned that the bodies may return to un-life, the party informed the church of the situation and the priests will burn the bodies of the three con men and will speak with the families of Banny Harker and Katrine Vinder to counsel the same.

The party goes to the Rusty Dragon to rest and eat lunch...
