In the underground complex, the party waits in the levitation room for 3 hours.  During which, Kaylee checks out the book and cannot decipher it's strange script.  She also investigates the scroll and determines that it is written in mystic symbols and could be read by a wizard with decipher magic or by someone with the "read mystic symbols" skill.

At 1 pm, the party moves to the cathedral and investigates, then tries to destroy the triangular pool.  Attempting to destroy the symbols via mining is unsuccessful.  Vosh determines that the material the pool is made out of is a composite of stone and metal.  This is not a naturally occuring material.  He attempts to shape the stone around the pool to drain the liquid.  Kaylee tries a tarot reading (divination skill) and determines that the party does have the capability to destroy the pool.  The party is unsuccessful in figuring out how to do this, so they return to town and speak with Brodurt, the resident sage.  He informs the party that the book is a prayer book to Lammashtu and is written in infernal.  They inquire if it makes reference to Malfeshnekor and he agrees to check it out.  They sell the scroll (burning hands) to him.  As they describe their encounters and the triangular pool specifically, Brodurt connects it to what is called a runewell.  There were once seven runelords and they each controlled a different type of dark magic that was based on one of the seven deadly sins.  He has an idea on how to destroy it (or at least disable it).  He asks the party to retrieve rubbings of the actual symbols, so he can be sure.

7-25-770  The party has breakfast at The Rusty Dragon.  Ameiko is not present, but the serving woman Bethana thanks the group for rescuing her.  During breakfast an alter boy (Wilbur) from the church delivers a message to Kaylee: Brad will be unable to join them down to get the rubbings.  The party decides to go anyway.  The party, specifically Kaylee and Vosh, sucessfully get the rubbings and bring them back to Brodurt.

7-26-770  Brodurt informs the party that he believes the runewell is based on wrath magic and that the party can remove the magic from the well by making "sinspawn" as the quasit did.  That should drain the magic from the well.  The party goes back to the well.  Grim uses his blood to summon the sinspawn; two total, one at a time.  Vosh then uses his earth elemental magic to shape the surrounding stone to cover the well.  Return to town...

7-27-770  Vosh and Kaylee take a trip up the river to go visit "mom".  Sherrif Hemlock returns from Magnimar with  five extra guards.
